How Paměť works

From scattered systems to grounded answers.

Paměť does not replace the systems your company runs on. It reads from them, links what it finds into one memory, and answers questions with the evidence attached. This page explains each step of that mechanism, and what it means for the people who use it.

Step by step

Six steps. Each one does a specific job.

Read in order, the six steps describe how a record in a mailbox becomes part of an answer. Read individually, each one explains a design decision behind Paměť.

  1. STEP 01

    Connect

    Paměť reaches into the systems you already run.

    Paměť connects to the systems your company already works in: mailboxes, document libraries, chat workspaces, CRM, shared drives. Connectors are designed to read rather than write, and to operate within the access rights those systems already enforce.

    Nothing is exported, re-filed or copied into a new workspace. The records stay where they are, owned by the systems that own them today.

  2. STEP 02

    Index

    Every record is catalogued in place, with its context intact.

    Each connected source is indexed where it lives: emails and their attachments, documents, meeting notes, chat threads, CRM records. For every item, Paměť keeps what it is, where it lives, who it involves and when it was written.

    The index is designed to stay in step with the source, so questions are answered from the records the company actually holds rather than from a copy that has drifted out of date.

  3. STEP 03

    Understand

    Records are linked into a memory, not just listed.

    Indexing finds documents. Understanding finds the connections between them. Paměť recognises the clients, projects, people, dates and decisions that appear across sources and links them: a quotation to the email that answered it, a decision to the minutes that record it, a project to the people who ran it.

    This linked structure is the knowledge layer. It is the difference between a search index and a memory.

  4. STEP 05

    Answer

    An answer composed from the records, with the evidence attached.

    Paměť composes the answer from the records it found, in the language the question was asked in. Every statement points back to the document, email or thread it came from, with a date and the system it lives in.

    If the company has no record of something, Paměť says so. It does not fill the gap with a plausible guess.

  5. STEP 06

    Preserve

    The memory belongs to the company, not to one inbox.

    Because the memory lives at the company level, it does not depend on any one person's mailbox or recollection. When a colleague moves on, the projects they ran, the clients they knew and the decisions they took remain askable.

    Knowledge accumulates instead of evaporating. Every project, quotation and conversation adds to what the next person can find.

Paměť is a layer, not a destination. Nothing moves, and nobody has to change how they work for the memory to form.

  • No migration

    Records stay in the systems that own them. Paměť indexes in place; it does not become a second copy of your file server, and there is no cutover weekend.

  • Employees keep their tools

    Outlook stays Outlook. Teams stays Teams. Paměť sits alongside them, and people come to it with a question rather than moving their work into it.

  • Reads within existing permissions

    Connectors are designed to respect the access rights your systems already enforce. Someone who cannot open a folder today is not meant to see its contents through Paměť either.

  • Nothing to maintain by hand

    No tagging, no filing rules, no wiki that goes stale. The memory is built from the records the company produces anyway, so it does not depend on anyone remembering to curate it.

What happens when someone asks a question.

Follow one question from the demo workspace through Paměť, from the moment it is typed to the moment a cited answer appears.

  1. 01

    The question

    Typed in plain language, in the language the asker works in. No filters, no system names, no exact filenames. A project manager whose ERP go-live is slipping wants to know whether the company has been here before.

  2. 02

    Interpretation

    Paměť works out what the question is really about: an event (a cutover that slipped), a domain (ERP projects), a time frame (any past project) and an intent. “How” means the asker wants decisions and outcomes, not just documents that mention the words.

  3. 03

    Retrieval across sources

    The knowledge layer is searched across every connected system the asker is permitted to see. Four records surface, from four different systems, written across two projects and the best part of a year.

  4. 04

    Linking

    The records are not returned as a list. The knowledge layer connects them into a sequence: the decision in the steering committee minutes, the mitigation in the risk register, the outcome in the cutover chat, and a later project brief that reused the same approach.

  5. 05

    The answer, with citations

    A short answer in the asker’s language, each statement tied to its source, with the confidence level, the number of sources and the period covered. Any citation opens the original. “Why this answer?” shows the reasoning.

Yes. The Argo Systems ERP Migration (2025) slipped its cutover by three weeks when master-data cleansing took longer than planned.

The team moved to a phased cutover: finance first, then logistics. Petr Dvořák documented the approach in the steering committee minutes of 11 March 2025, and the risk register (v3) records the mitigation steps that were later reused.

A shorter version of the same approach was applied on the Prague Logistics Hub project in early 2026.

Grounded, not generated

What grounded means.

A fluent answer is easy to produce. A checkable one is the whole point. In Paměť, grounded means three specific things.

  • It cites its sources

    Every statement in an answer is tied to the record it came from: a document, an email, a chat thread, a CRM entry. The citation names the system and lets you open the original.

  • It is dated

    Companies change their minds. Paměť shows when each source was written and the period an answer covers, so a decision from 2023 is not mistaken for current policy.

  • It says when it does not know

    If the company has no record of something, Paměť says so. It does not fill the gap with a plausible guess. An honest “no record found” is an answer you can act on.

Why it matters

An answer you cannot check is an opinion with good grammar.

Grounding is what makes Paměť usable for decisions that matter: a quotation, a commitment to a client, a lesson from a project that went wrong. The answer is only as good as the record behind it, and the record is always one click away.

Paměť does not invent an agreement to fill the gap. If one exists, it has not been filed where Paměť can read it, and that is worth knowing too.

Deployment

Deployed to fit your environment.

Deployment options depend on your environment, your systems and your security requirements. Paměť is designed with European hosting and tenant isolation in mind; the exact configuration is agreed with your team.

  • Hosting

    Intended for European hosting, so that company knowledge can stay within the EU. Where exactly your memory runs is agreed as part of deployment.

  • Isolation

    Each company’s memory is designed to be kept separate from every other’s. The isolation options depend on your deployment configuration.

  • Rollout

    We recommend beginning with a few sources and a pilot group, then widening once the answers prove useful. Connectors are added as your systems allow.
