Mission

Make what a company knows as easy to reach as what it stores.

The company knows more than any employee. Our mission is to make that knowledge reachable: by anyone who needs it, in the language they think in, with the evidence attached.

Most companies do not have a knowledge problem. They have a retrieval problem. The quotation exists. The meeting was minuted. The client’s objection was written down, in an email, by someone who has since changed jobs. The information is there — it is simply held in fragments, across systems and inside individual people, where the company as a whole cannot reach it.

Octopus Memory exists to close that gap. We build Paměť, a memory layer that sits underneath the tools a company already uses, links what they hold into one connected memory, and answers questions from it with the sources attached. Not a chatbot that has read the internet, but a system that has read your company.

We judge ourselves on one thing: whether a person can ask their company a question and get an answer they can trust.

How we think

Practical infrastructure, not spectacle.

We hold four convictions about AI inside a company. None of them is fashionable. All of them are what a business actually needs from the technology.

01

Practical infrastructure

We think about AI the way a company thinks about its network or its email: as infrastructure that should work quietly, predictably and for years. Paměť is not a chat window bolted onto the side of the business. It is a layer underneath it, built to be depended on rather than demonstrated. The measure of good infrastructure is that people stop noticing it.

02

Grounded answers

An answer nobody can check is not an answer. Every reply Paměť gives is built from the company's own records, dated, and linked to the documents it came from. When the company has no record of something, Paměť says so. A confident guess is worse than an honest gap, and we would rather be trusted than impressive.

03

Privacy first

Company knowledge is among the most sensitive information a business holds, and we design as if that were obvious. Private by default. Permission-aware by design, so that people receive answers built only from records they may already see. An EU-first approach to hosting and data handling. Security is where the design starts, not a feature switched on afterwards.

04

Works with existing tools

Nobody wants another workspace. People already have an inbox, a document library, a chat tool and a CRM, and they are not going to move their history into something new. So Paměť reads from where knowledge already lives, and leaves it there. The tools stay. The memory is what changes.

Why company memory

What an octopus knows about company memory.

Most of an octopus's neurons are not in its head. They are in its arms.

Each arm senses, decides and acts with a degree of independence. And yet the animal moves as one, because the arms belong to one body and one memory.

Companies are built the same way. Sales knows the client. Delivery knows the project. Finance knows the invoice. Each team acts intelligently on its own and keeps its knowledge in its own systems. What is usually missing is the shared memory in the middle: the thing that lets the whole organisation act on what any one part has learned.

That is what Paměť is for. Not a replacement for the arms, but the memory they share.

Many arms · one memory

The octopus

Eight arms, each sensing and acting on its own.

The company

Teams and people, each holding their own knowledge.

Paměť

Reads from each team's systems, in place.

The octopus

One nervous system that lets the arms act as a whole.

The company

One organisation that needs to act on everything it knows.

Paměť

Links records, people and projects into one connected memory.

The octopus

An animal that remembers what its arms have touched.

The company

A company that should remember what its people have learned.

Paměť

Keeps the knowledge when the people who created it move on.

Prague · Europe

Built in a city with a long institutional memory.

Prague is a good place to build a memory company. It is a city of archives, registers and institutions that have outlasted the people who ran them, in the middle of a region where business is done in several languages at once.

One word, three languages

  • paměťCzech
  • pamäťSlovak
  • memoryEnglish
  • Prague as identity

We are a Prague company: Czech-speaking, European in outlook and practical by temperament. The city's habit of keeping things, and of finding them again, is one we admire and try to build into software. It also keeps us honest. Grand claims do not travel well here.

  • European data handling

Paměť is designed around European expectations of data handling: an EU-first hosting philosophy, GDPR-conscious architecture and a strong preference for keeping company knowledge under the company's own control. The specific controls that apply to you depend on your deployment configuration. Ask our team.

  • Multilingual by nature

In this part of Europe one email thread can move between Czech, Slovak and English without anyone noticing the switch. Paměť is designed to search across all three and to answer in the language of the question, rather than translating afterwards.

Team

A small team in Prague.

Octopus Memory is a small team based in Prague. We would rather show you working software than a wall of portraits, so profiles will appear here as they are ready to publish.

Working with us

How a first conversation works.

No slide deck and no pressure. A first conversation with us is about your company, not ours.

  1. 01

Tell us where your knowledge lives.

Which systems your teams use, which questions they ask each other most often, and where the answers tend to hide. That is the whole brief.

  2. 02

We show you Paměť on a demo workspace.

You see how a question is answered, how each source is cited, and what happens when the company has no record. Nothing of yours is connected at this stage.

  3. 03

We talk through what a pilot would involve.

Which sources to connect first, which team would benefit most, and what a good outcome looks like for you. We do not promise timelines before we understand your environment.

Talk to the people building Paměť.

Tell us where your company's knowledge lives and which questions your teams keep asking. We will show you what Paměť could do with them.
